If your mailbox has reached its storage limit, you may be unable to send or receive new emails. Follow the steps below to free up space in your mailbox.

1. Delete Unnecessary Emails

Review your mailbox and remove emails that are no longer needed.

  1. Open your Inbox, Sent Items, and other folders.
  2. Select unwanted emails.
  3. Click Delete.

2. Empty the Deleted Items Folder

Deleted emails continue to use mailbox storage until they are permanently removed.

  1. Open the Deleted Items folder.
  2. Right-click the folder.
  3. Select Empty Folder or Delete All in Folder.
  4. Confirm the action.

3. Empty the Junk Email Folder

Spam and junk emails can accumulate over time and consume mailbox storage.

  1. Open the Junk Email folder.
  2. Review the emails to ensure there are no important messages.
  3. Empty the folder.

4. Remove Emails with Large Attachments

Emails containing large attachments often use the most storage space.

  1. Use the search feature to find emails with attachments.
  2. Download any important attachments to your device.
  3. Delete the emails if they are no longer required.

5. Review Sent Items

The Sent Items folder can grow quickly, especially if you frequently send emails with attachments.

  1. Open the Sent Items folder.
  2. Delete emails that are no longer needed.

6. Check Your Mailbox Storage Usage

Some email accounts provide a mailbox usage indicator in the account settings.

  1. Open Settings or Account Information.
  2. Review your current mailbox usage and available storage.

Still Need More Space?

If you have completed the steps above and your mailbox is still full, contact your email administrator or hosting provider to discuss available storage upgrade options.

Tip: Regularly delete unnecessary emails and empty the Deleted Items and Junk Email folders to help prevent your mailbox from reaching its storage limit.
