Domain aliases allow you to point several domain names to the same website. This can be useful, for example, for branding purposes.

To set up a domain alias in Plesk:

1. Go to Hosting Services and run the Add Domain Alias wizard.

2. The domain alias must be register and validate.

Domain alias name – enter the domain that you want to alias

For the domain – if you have multiple domain, you can choose other domain that you want to make alias.

For setting: -

  • Synchronize DNS zone – for domain alias you could choose either you want to used primary domain DNS Zone or you want to choose different DNS Zone
  • Mail Service – you can choose either you want to enable mail service or disable
  • Web Service - you can choose either you want to enable web service or disable
  • Redirect with the HTTP 301 code - When visitors open the alias's URL, they will be redirected to the URL of the primary domain. Plesk uses the search engine-friendly HTTP 301 redirection, which means the search engine ranking will not be split between the URLs.
